Royal Bourbon Industries prepares and markets canned dried beans and ready-made meals, condiments and exotic fruit jams. It also processes a range of spices and aromatic herbs, and produces a range of sweet products (fruit desserts, juices and nectars, dessert preparations, etc.). Considered one of the leading fruit and vegetable processors in the Indian Ocean, the company is a major player in the Reunion market, and has been perpetuating Reunion’s culinary tradition and know-how since 1950.
Our history
ROYAL BOURBON was born in the 50s, within the walls of “La Conserverie de Villeneuve” in Saint-Benoît. The factory specialized in the manufacture of preserves of traditional Réunionese products (bichiques, etc.) and tropical fruit jams. 1985: The MOREAU family creates Royal Bourbon S.A. and takes over the cannery’s activities, developing a wide range of canned products. 1991: Agreement with the CPC group, now UNILEVER, Royal Bourbon S.A. sets up a dehydrated products plant in Bras-Panon. 1995: Maison Rama (spice preparation and packaging) and Albius (vanilla and dried fruit packaging) are integrated. 1996: The merger of all these activities creates Royal Bourbon Industries. 2000: Distribution of the Ceres brand, then production of this brand in 2015 thanks to its new production unit, processing tropical fruits and producing juices (Tetrapak line). 2017 : Launch of fruit drinks under the Kayamba brand. Launch of the Royal Bourbon Industries frozen fruit and vegetable range.
